2016 Program

Day 1: 
Our 4-week Industrial Training Program kicked off on Wednesday, June 1st with 30 enthusiastic students ready to learn about the industrial field! On Day One, students completed exercises in workplace behaviors, took a tour of Lee Industrial Contracting and heard from members of Lee's management staff.
Day 2: 
CDI students learned the importance of safety in the industrial field, and how to properly operate industry equipment, such as an Aerial Lift and Fork Truck.
Day 3:
On Day Three, students learned how to read construction blueprints, how to plan and prep for a job, business operations and business systems.
Day 4 & 5:
To kick off week two of our program, students dove into industrial Pipefitting and Welding. They learned fabrication layouts, MIG, TIG, Arc and Torch welding, pipe cutting, threading, brazing and soldering.
Day 6 & 7:
To wrap up Week Two, students got their hands dirty laying concrete and running machines in our fabrication shop. They learned to build forms, spread and finish concrete, operate an excavator and skid steer, and run machines such as a Bridgeport, Lathe, Brake Press and Plasma Cutter!
Day 8 & 9:
Two days of innovation and teamwork! On days 8 and 9, students got to have some fun with electrical and rigging. Students worked together to wire a wall and move heavy equipment.
Week 3 & 4:
We are now into the 4th and final week of our program! With classroom instruction and shop training behind them, CDI students headed out to jobsites for field training. Not only are they using the skills they learned during their shop training, but they are even learning new trades, such as controls, industrial painting and HVAC!
Day 28: Graduation Day!
It's official! Today, our CDI students become alumni. With the necessary knowledge and skills, they are now ready to enter a career in the industrial field. Congratulations graduates! We can't wait to see what the future has in store for each one of you.
